The technique is very widely employed in the determination and accurate delineation of the depth to the basement, existence of water, and different geological structures.
The machine being digital takes the reading of frequencies at different distance intervals and plots of the graph of frequency against depth is made. It then goes on to process the Profile map that shows (to the precision of 98% accuracy) the accumulation and exact depth at which water would be gotten.
It also presents the processed map that shows the geologic structures like fold, faults, aquifers and saturated zones. The digital efficiency of the machine reduces human interference and errors to virtually null (If the procedures are correctly executed)
